Emphasizes collective approach towards such social causes
As part of ongoing “Swachta hi Sewa” initiative, Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander prakash Ganga led a cleanliness drive at Railway Station Bari Brahmana organized by the district administration.
Among others DC, Sheetal Nanda, senior officers and people in large number participated in the drive.
While speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that keeping our surroundings clean and neat is our moral and social responsibility and we should contribute our bit to Swachh Bharat campaign. He said that although people maintain cleanliness and hygiene at individual levels, the need of the hour is to join together to make the entire district clean. He said this has to be people’s movement and participation on voluntary-basis can only make this drive a success.
The Minister emphasized the role of youth in motivating others about the significance of living a healthy and hygienic life which is possible only when we will take care of our surroundings as we take care of ourselves. He exhorted upon the need of collective approach towards such social causes which ultimately affects individual lives.
Ganga said that the main idea behind the campaign is to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of clean India and meet the Prime Minister’s target of making the entire country open defecation free by 2019. He exhorted upon the people to supplement government’s initiatives of making a perceptible change on ground level and achieve the goal of a clean India .
The Minister appealed the people to avoid wastage of food and ensure that any surplus food is provided to the lesser privileged in the society.
