BJP State President & MLA Jammu West, Sat Sharma handed over the joining letter for government job to elder son of martyr Chamel Singh, who hailed from a border village of Pargwal in Akhnoor of Jammu and was beaten to death in Pakistan’s Kot Lakhpat jail on January 15, 2013. Letter was handed over in BJP headquarter, Trikuta Nagar.
It is worthwhile to mention here that, his case was forcefully pursued by Sat Sharma on all fronts for due financial compensation from the State and Central Governments to his family as well as martyr status and other benefits along with government job to his kin.
Sat Sharma, while handing over the appointment letter to Dara singh, the son of martyr Chamel Singh, said that BJP is committed to every cause, that is related to the Nationalist population of the country and as a public representative, he has done nothing exceptional in the matter to support the family for their genuine concerns. He said that the letter of government appointment in the Finance department from the side of the State Government has been handed over to Dara Singh after the financial aid of 5 lakh Rupees to the family few weeks back which is the practical proof that the present dispensation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and the BJP-PDP coalition government in the State is keen to serve the residents of the Nation and the State. He recalled all the events, how the steps were taken to bring his dead body and tries for compensation by talking to then CM Umar Abdullah, but now CM Mehbooba Mufti has considered the issue through Cabinet which recommended the case for first financial support and then government job by Ministry of Finance. He said that though not a great deal as the life is more important, but still speaks for the commitment of the present dispensation. He also said that he will talk to Rajnath Singh , for Central compensation to the family as well as he is a martyr who was killed by them in cold blood. Son and wife of martyr Chamel, while talking to the press, thanked Sat Sharma, and said that he has fought for and backed the family from the start till end. He said that, Sat Sharma pursued their case in the Centre and State right though the times when BJP was not in power, and now after 4 years, everybody can see the result. He also said that Sat Sharma has assured them that he will also advocate their case for the status of martyr and compensations from the Centre.
