Senior BJP leader and MLC Vibod Gupta, along with officers of various Departments and party workers, visited different areas of Rajouri Town to take stock of developmental activities and works executed during 2017-18. To get firsthand information regarding developmental projects, Sh. Vibod Gupta firstly visited the Old District hospital Complex, where a GNM School is being constructed at an estimated Cost of Rs. 5.00 Crores by J&K Police Housing Corporation. Sh. Vibod Gupta was told by the Concerned that the building shall be Completed within 12 months and shall be handed over to Health and medical Education Department.Gupta also inspected the ongoing work of Bridge from Vedhant Asharam to MES Store Rajouri connecting Rajouri-Poonch Highway which will be constructed with an estimated Cost of 6.62 crores. Sh. Vibod Gupta asked the Engineers of JKPCC, to expedite the work, so that the same could be completed in time bound manner.
Sh. Vibod Gupta also inspected numbers of works executed by Municipality Department, in ward-No-05, 02 and 04 out of Construction work(6 under District plan, 6 works under IDMT etc) being executed at an estimated cost of 47.00 lacs and feel satisfied with the work. Executive Officer MC Rajouri, informed Mr. Gupta that number of works other than lanes/drains like Construction of Compound Wall / Gate at yatra Ground (water point), tile work/ link road in Ward-No-03 besides other urgent nature of works under Public Demand are in execution and shall be completed in the Current financial year.
Sh. Vibod Gupta also attended the Public meeting at Ward-No-04 and listened the Public issues. He was told that PDD Department has issued exaggerated Bills in respect of some poor persons of the area and sought intervention of the Department. He was also told the issues regarding the Construction of Lanes/drains, un-interrupted power Supply, Ration to BPL families etc.
Sh. Vibod Gupta listened their grievances and in his address said that State coalition govt. is committed for the overall development of State. He said that during the first District Development Board meeting of the present Govt., issue for up gradation of Municipal Committee to the level of municipal Council was raised. Due to census figures, the same is still pending with the Government. He said that as and when the same shall be done, people of Rajouri shall get adequate funds for the development of this Town. He said that up-gradation of 20 MVA to 50 MVA Transformer at Thudi has been been done at an cost of Rs. 5.00 crores, which shall reduce the Curtailment in Power Supply especially Rajouri Town.
Gupta also said that, Construction of Circular road, Mini Secretariat, Development of Parking places at Rajouri are in pipe line and shall be executed during the current financial year, to reduce the Traffic jams in Rajouri City and Mandi area. He said that work of approach road to Abdullah Bridge is under construction and shall be made open shortly.
He further said that 40 number of roads under District plan against an estimated cost of 46 crores is under progress in Rajouri Constituency, whereas 3 number of Bridges under CRF against Estimated cost of Rs. 28.00 crores, have been sanctioned in Rajouri Constituency, besides number of Culverts, which shall enhance the outer Connectivity in the Region. Under Macadamization most of the roads are being blacktopped. On Electricity bills, Gupta assured them for constitution of committee, which shall verify the Bills. Gupta assured the public for redressal of their problems shortly and intimated that Rs.1.00 crores shall be provided for the Augmentation and up-gradation of Power Sector in the District. He also said that necessary steps are being taken for providing Water supply in uninterrupted manner and replacement of pipes is also under consideration under LIC-Project-2
Public of the area thanked Gupta, for his efforts in sanctioning and installation of 50 MVA Transformer, sanction of Bridge, which shall connect the Batalamang and Thudi area and a way to Medical College, giving a short passage to kalakote area as well.
