Situation in valley not conducive for talks: Prof. Virender

BJP State Spokesperson Prof. Virender Gupta in a statement said that no talks can be held either with Pakistan or with internal stake holders in the present circumstances and those who are advocating for holding negotiations to reach at political solution for Kashmir problem are doing so to befool the people. “Those, particularly, the NC leaders who themselves are responsible for the present state of affairs and still engaged in provoking the youth by their statements are blaming the PDP-BJP alliance government in the state for the turmoil”, Prof. Virender said.
Reacting to the statement of Omar Abdullah that PDP-BJP alliance proved disastrous for Kashmir, the Spokesperson said that it is Abdullah family that always kept the Kashmir boiling. He criticized those who are condemning the recent action of security forces in which three stone pelters who were providing shield to the terrorists were killed. He asked the Kashmiri leaders to utilize their energy and efforts to use their influence in keeping youth away from the area where exchange of firing between security forces and the terrorists, takes place.
He further said that government should take serious note of pro-Azadi, Pro-Pakistan and Anti-India posters and flags that are being displayed in different parts of the Valley, while expressing his anguish on the report that sports events sponsored by the government are to be conducted in the memory of Burhan Wani and display of a poster with writing “welcome to Chota Pakistan” on a main road in the heart of Srinagar city. He observed that remaining indifferent to these incidents by the government shows its helplessness or weakness and sends wrong signals.
Prof. Virender Gupta said that authority of the government has to prevail if situation is to be brought to normalcy and to win the confidence of the vast majority of the population that does not endorse acts of terrorism and secessionist. The need of the hour is also to put restrictions on the social media that is being used by Pakistan and secessionist forces to instigate the youth and common masses against Indian Government and to further tighten the security in the Valley.
