Healthcare should be affordable, accessible: Sh. Yudhvir Sethi
Priya Sethi, Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Department of Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks alongwith BJP Vice President Yudhvir Sethi inaugurates modern day care dental and maxillofacial surgery clinic here . The clinic under the name and style S P Dental and maxillofacial Trauma Centre, a first of its kind in Jammu is being run by Dr Varun Kumar MDS.
Speaking on the occasion, Priya Sethi said that caring for one’s teeth is a lifelong commitment. Problems related to oral heatlh, she said are cropping up more in kids and more we can do to help poor kids maintain proper dental habits the more we can instill good dental care at any age. Congratulating Dr Varun for his endeavour to open such a doog cliing in Jammu, she hoped that people will be provided right and needed care besides consultancy at reasonable rates.
She said that though a full-fledged dental hospital is functional in Jammu yet clinics are catering to several patients who live in far off places. These private clinics, she added can lessen government’s burden and at the same time generate employment. She hoped that people of the locality will be able to get better facilities in this clinic and better diagnostic machines will help patients get right picture of their problems as well.
Speaking on the occasion, Yudhvir Sethi said it is good that this clinic deals with dental as well as maxillofacial issues. Tooth decay, he said is badly affecting speaking, eating and even concentration powers amongst children and hoped that this clinic will take care of these issues. He hoped that plastic surgery section of the clinic and specialized doctors will take care of needs of people including that of Facial Contouring, Facial Rejuvenation besides Body Contouring that which is very much in demand.
He said that more such clinic in private sector must be opened in the state so that healthcare facilities reach every nook and corner the state. While congratulating Dr Varun for his initiative, Yudhvir Sethi said utmost care should be taken during post operative period as people tend to adop laxities at that time only. The daycare facility kept in the clinic he hoped will overcome that issue.
Giving details of facilities available, Dr Varun Kumar informed that the clinic will have indoor day care facilities besides other dental specialists and plastic surgeons will remain on call. Specialized procedures like facial/ jaw bone fractures, cosmetic facial surgery, cleft lip palate, PRP therapy and hair transplant/consultation will be carried out in the setup for the convenience of people, he added.
