Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta and Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh today inaugurated a 20 MVA, 132/33 KV transformer at Grid Station, Gangyal. The renovation, installation and allied works have been completed at the cost of Rs 25 lakh. The installation of additional transformer has upgraded the Grid Station, Gangyal from 50 MVA to 70 MVA. The installation of transformer will benefit residents of Trikuta Nagar, Gangyal, Kunjwani, Greater Jammu, Marble Market, Greater Kailash and other adjoining areas. Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy CM said that the State Government is committed to provide uninterrupted power supply to the people of the State and concerted efforts are being taken to ensure the same. The Deputy CM called upon the people to take benefits of the State and Centrally sponsored schemes and asked them to pay their electricity bills on time so that the Government can properly implement these schemes for the welfare of the common masses. The cooperation of general public is necessary for the Government to take forward the developmental activities in the State, he added. Chief Engineer, PDD Ravi Chanyal, Chief Engineer (Maintenance) Ashwani Gupta and other officers of Power Development Department were present on the occasion.
