As part of remembering the noble work and contributions made by 19th Gyalaras Bakula Rinpoche, a program was organised to pay rich tributes to the architect of modern Ladakh and the first MP in 1949 at Legislative complex here today.
The legislators from across the party lines participated in the event and paid rich tributes to the H.E Bakula Rinpoche and recalled the contributions of the late leader for uplifting the downtrodden and weaker sections of the society.
Recalling his contributions towards the society and mankind, the Speaker termed him as true philanthropist, who has not only stood for the right but has always been on the forefront in extending his hand to the needy.
Gupta said that though being decorated by Padma Bhushan and being the first MP, his kindness and generosity cannot be limited to such titles only and he will be remembered for years and years to come.
The Speaker further said that despite being a active politician, he was a true religious leader who played an instrumental role in making of the modern ladakh.
He informed that a portrait of H.E Bakula Rimpoche will be displayed in the Legislative Assembly Complex and a tradition will be made to organise such programs in future.
Besides Deputy Speaker, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi, MOS, Ajay Nanda & Priya Sethi, MLA’s, Satpal Sharma, Sukhnandan Chowdhary, Nawang Rigzin Zora, Dinanath Bhagat, Asgar Ali Karbalai, Rajesh Gupta, Dr. Krishan Lal Bhagat, Rajiv Jasrotia, Kuldeeep Verma, Pawan Gupta, Farooq Ahmad Andrabi, Usman Majeed among others were present on the occasion.
