Speaker J&K legislative Assembly and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder today said that special focus have been laid for upgradation of road, power and other infrastructure in the rural belt of the Gandhi Nagar constituency in the last two and half years.
Addressing a large gathering during a public meeting organised at village Shergarh of Dharap Panchayat, the Speaker said the quality of life of the rural people have seen a positive change with the improvement in the basic facilities of the area.
“Upgradation of Power infra and prioritizing the road connectivity is high on agenda. The aim is to improve the living standards and make best possible use of the funds provided by the union and state government”, the Speaker asserted.
The Speaker informed the gathering that the government is making all out efforts to provide basic facilities at the door steps of the people.
Enumerating various welfare schemes, the speaker asked the people to take maximum benefits of these schemes which includes PMUY, Ladli Beti, State Marriage Assistance, PMAY, and many others
He also inaugurated a newly upgraded transformer along with the construction work for laying of Tiles and remodeling of drains in the Panchayat.
Meanwhile, the locals expressed their gratitude to the legislator for addressing the long pending demands of the panchayat by installing five upgraded transformers in the last two years and expediting the development activity in the area.
The locals also put forth various demands pertaining to blacktopping of internal links of the Panchayat, issuance of new LPG connections, widow/oldage pension, state subjects and few others.
Giving a patient hearing, the seaker informed that 2700 LPG conncetions have been distributed by him in addition to pension benefits to 2300 people approx in the last one year.
He said that in case they get any problem regarding the issues mentioned above they can directly come to his Gandhi Nagar office and get their issue resolved at the earliest.
SDM South, Sonu Pargal, Tehsildar South, Anil Magotra, BDO Satwari, A.K Khajuria, Baldev Billowria, Harbans Chowdhary, Jaswant Singh, Vikram Singh, Ajeet Kumar were prominent among others present on the occasion.
