We don’t believe in beating drums for highlighting our works: Kavinder Gupta

Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta today inspected the physical status of the ongoing works along with the proposed works of Gandhi Nagar constituency.

He conducted a tour of Gangyal, Nai Basti, Digiana and satwari along with the officers of PWD(R&B), JMC, UEED, ERA, Revenue and Rural Development Department.

During his visit, several delegations called upon him and shared few ideas for streamlining the development activities in the area. The locals expressed their gratitude for fast tracking the pace of development in the area.

The Speaker asked the officers to work with dedication and adopt a proactive approach to redress the grievances of the people and ensure comprehensive development of the constituency.

He also directed them to take up the pending works in all the municipal wards, panchayats and cantonment wards concerning the construction, sanitation, issuance of PRC’s & Aadhar Cards and submit the status report to his office within a week’s time.

The Speaker expressed his satisfaction over the construction of Subway at Gangyal and Digiana Ashram. He stressed on maintaining the enthusiasm for ensuring prompt public service at the doorsteps of people.

Taking a dig at the previous NC-Congress government, the Speaker said the people who enjoyed power for years together have done nothing concrete on ground. “I inherited a constituency where every department was in a state of dismay”, he added.

While inspecting the work for construction of Gangyal Nallah, the speaker directed the officers of ERA to maintain quality and ensure the timely completion of the same before the onset of monsoon season.

The Speaker informed the locals that Rs 2 Crore has been sanctioned for construction of deep drain at digiana and the same will start by the mid of this month followed by blacktopping of roads in the area which was delayed due to damaged drains.

Quoting,”we don’t believe in beating drums for highlighting our works”, he said the public service is our prime concern and the present government is committed to provide the same.
