BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma CA, while addressing a gathering of Mahila Morcha leaders and activists at Kachi Chawni Office on Saturday, said that women constitute about 50 percent of the Indian population and their contribution in various fields has been highly appreciable. A woman has vital role in nation building, this has been a proved fact. He said that the BJP has always advocated the representation of women in decision making bodies and its commitment can be well judged from the fact that it has provided 33 percent reservation for them in its organizational set up.
Sat Sharma said that the present Narendra Modi led government at the centre has launched a number of schemes exclusively for the social and economic upliftment and welfare of the women across the country. He said that in Jammu and Kashmir also, the previous PDP-BJP coalition government had launched welfare schemes for women and the Mahila Morcha activists should come forward and help the poor and the needy women to avail the benefits of these schemes. He also congratulated Purnima Sharma on being nominated as State President of Mahila Morcha.
Newly nominated BJP Mahila Morcha State President Purnima Sharma said that the woman is no less than man in this present era of fast means of communication and avenues of education. “Today woman is not confined to kitchen but she has been scaling new heights and contributing for the family and the society” said Purnima Sharma.
Earlier, Sat Sharma and BJP Morcha Incharge Munish Sharma were facilitated by Mahila Morcha State President Purnima Sharma and her team members by offering shawls and mementos.
BJP State Vice Presidents- Rajni Sethi, State General Secretary Dr. Narinder Singh, Mahila Morcha Former State President Suresh Jamwal and Sakina Bano and Mahila Morcha National Executive Member Sheela Handoo shared dias with the State President.
