BJP State Vice-President Mamta Singh, during her scheduled weekly sitting at party headquarter, listened to the problems of the people from Jammu city as well as adjoining areas and assured to help them in solving the same. A large number of women also called on her.
Mamta Singh, while giving patience hearings to the people, said that although the BJP has been in the government for the last one and half year but during this small period record number of developmental activities have been undertaken and many welfare schemes stand launched in Jammu and Kashmir under this coalition. She said that the BJP led government at the center has launched exclusive schemes for different sections, the same pattern has been adopted in the state and whatever the government starts new is formulated keeping in view the needs of the youth, women, down-troddens, farmers, ex-servicemen etc.
Talking to women on this occasion, Mamta Singh said that almost half of the population of the country is of women and they have important role as builder of nation’s destiny. It is also indeed a matter of pride for them that Narendra Modi government has realized the need of their economics and social empowerment. One after the other milestone decision has been taken by the government at the center and an era of progress and prosperity in the lives of Indian women has started.
“The time has come when women cannot be kept confined to the kitchens as they have proved themselves, dynamic, vibrant and perfect in many fields”, said Mamta Singh and added that the empowerment of women by itself cannot place women on equal footing with men, the need of hour is the change of social attitudes towards women”. Many social evils, like dowry, illiteracy among women, infanticide of female child, elimination of girls foetus, are required to be fully rooted out. The crime against women are to be dealt with strongest hand though several measures.
