Vice-Chairperson, J&K SC, ST, BC Development Corporation Limited, Balbir Ram Rattan, inspected a Boutique cum Beauty Parlour in Phallan Mandal area of Jammu District along with Corporation District Manager Joginder Paul Atri, run by a Scheduled Caste woman Sushma Devi, by availing a loan of rupees one lakh.
Balbir Ram Rattan, appreciated the efforts of the loanee for utilizing her skills and strong will to prove herself as a successful woman entrepreneur. He said that the woman has efficiently used an amount of one lakh provided by the Corporation to help her establish a venture, who has even provided employment to two other unemployed women as well in her unit.
He said that women are no less than the men in contributing to the society and even better, as they have to play a dual role in attending to their families along with their public lives and this is particularly more challenging where the women folk are more emotionally attached to their family responsibilities. He added that the success story of this women entrepreneur has proved that even with the meager amount, one can scale the stairs of success.
Balbir said that the women entrepreneur in India as well as across the world have set up examples of success which inspire others to follow and enhance their social as well as economic status. He stressed that the successful women should visit other women in the society to personally educate, encourage and boost their morale in setting up of own earning units.
