BJP State Spokesperson Prof. Virender Gupta while commenting upon press conference addressed by Ambika Soni and Salman Khurshid said that the present situation in Kashmir valley is the result of the wrong policies pursued by the Congress party at the Centre and National Conference and Congress alliance government in the state. Militancy raised its heads during the alliance government of Congress and National Conference and the situation in the valley became out of control of the state government and civil administration in 1990 when Govt. of India had to send Jagmohan as Governor in the state. The leaders of NC and those of Congress left the valley and some of them even the state/country to save themselves from the onslaught of the terrorism.
He said that violence turbulent by the militants and the separatists are happening intermittently in the valley after 1990. He reminded Congress leaders the happenings of 2008 and 2010 which occurred when Congress party was partner in government and in 2010 when about 120 so called stone pelters were killed.
Prof. Virender Gupta criticized the Congress leaders for not uttering single word in favour of security personnel to boost their morale who are controlling the situation under very constrained and odd circumstances while keeping all possible restrain in dealing with the mass upsurge. He said that there was no disproportionate and excessive use of force in the present turmoil and added that the violent mob attacked the police stations, looted the ammunition with no option left for the police to retaliate. Among the injured persons about 50% are those from security personnel.
Prof. Virender while reminding the Congress leaders that Congress-NC alliance government did not take the cognizance when the Pakistani and ISIS flags were being raised on every Friday and stones were pelted on security forces and said that these events encouraged the separatists as well as the Jehadis who were working for the Islamization of the whole of world. The indifferent attitude of then alliance government has culminated to the present situation.
Prof. Virender said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made number of attempts, which were even criticized by Congress party to reach out Pakistan to discuss the bilateral issues to bring peace in the subcontinent. The state government as well as GOI is approaching all sections of the society to bring normalcy in the valley.
He charged that uncalled for statements and Tweets of Omar Abdullah and comparing the present situation to Modi Model by Ghulam Nabi Azad are provocative statements those do not help in bringing normalcy.
Prof. Virender Gupta said that persons like Sayed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Yasin Malik are not the stake holders as being proclaimed by some pseudo intelligential they are basically stooges of Pakistan and added that the real stake holders are PoJK refugee, Kashmiri Pandits and people of Jammu and those of valley and Ladakh.
