To condemn the recent Uri attack of militants on Army camp, Vice-President Yudhvir Sethi yesterday night led a candle light march of people and businessman community of old city.
The march was organised by Jai Durga Yuva Sanstha at Lakhdatta bazar and large number of people from all walks of life besides local business men participated in it.
While paying rich tributes to Martyrs, Yudhvir described the attack as a cowardly act of anti-national forces who would be taught a severe lesson by the nation. He said such forces are being fuelled from across the border and they would have to pay heavy price for attacking the Indian Army.
“Our heart bleeds for the families of those martyred soldiers who were attacked by the cowards and the nation would give a strong reply to such forces who attack the integrity of our country,” he added.
President of the sanstha Amit Luthra also condemned the attack and called upon the government to give the perpetrators of such incidents a befitting reply so that no body dares to commit such acts against the defence forces of the country.
Two minutes silence also was observed for peace to the departed souls.
Prominent among those who participated in the march and paid tributes to the martyred soldiers include, Vijay Talla, Subash Shastri, Ashok Luthra, Rajinder Pal Verma, T.S. Negi, Gourav Luthra, Rohit Verma, Pawan Talla, Lalit Luthra, Sudarshan Luthra and Kartar Gupta.
