“ASHA” workers main pillar of health department: Dr. Gagan

A three day “refresher” and orientation course of the ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers was conducted at Community Health Centre R.S Pura in which M.L.A R.S Pura & political Advisor to State BJP President Dr. Gagan Bhgat was the chief guest.Speaking on the occasion Dr.Gagan Bhagat said ASHA workers have done tremendous job in the implementation of several Central Health Programme , especially the success of National Health Mission (NHM) is due to the hard work, Sincerity and dedication of the ASHA workers , and without caring about their own family ASSHA workers had devoted their life to the society and this sacrificae needs to be appreciated at every leveln and he supported the genuine demand for increasing incentives of the ASHA, providing accommodation, or resting rooms at the major hospitals across the states, providing training to the eligible workers and regularization in the paramedical faculty in Jammu & Kashmir Health department, social security benefits like pension, gratuity, maternity benefits, and minimum wages of atleast Rs 15000 per month for ASHA workers.He further demanded that ASHA workers be covered under Aam Aadmi Bima Yojna, payment of all incentives in time, implementation of January 2014 Central Government order for monthly payment of Rs 1000, provision of changing rooms, ID cards, two uniforms and promotion as ANM after training and benefits of B..PL Cards. The ASHA workers from the R.S Pura block and Suchetgarh zone participated in the course. Dr.Gagan Bhagat also laid special emphasis and advised the ASHA workers to constitute a Ten members Block committee . The Legislator then held a meeting with ASHA workers and Radha Rani demanded regularization of their jobs as village-level government employees and till then their minimum wages should be fixed at Rs 15,000 per month.She also told Dr.Gagan Bhagat that the ASHA workers in the state had not been getting incentives at time for the last six months due to which they had been facing hardship.Dr.Gagan stressed on the importance of digital literacy training of the ASHA workers as being provided by the union government under skill development. He asked the ASHA workers to enroll for the said course and spread the word among their colleagues. Block R.S Pura has around 180 functional ASHA workers. Apart from ASHA workers, Dr. Gagan has also been targeting Anganwadi Workers( A.W.W ) through various meetings at the C.D.P.O office in R.S Pura. In a meeting at C.D.P.O office at R.S Pura last week, he advised the C.D.P.O R.S Pura to mobilize Anganwadi workers for enrolment in the digital literacy programme. So far, Dr.Gagan Bhagat have chaired five such meetings in the last three months.Later on Dr.Gagan also announced a Hall with all the modern facilities for training and meeting of the Medical, Paramedical and ASHA workers at the community Health Centre R.S Pura, and also announced that within ten days, the C.H.C will get “Twenty four hour” constant power supply with a special dedicated feeder , so that the patients from the R.S Pura Constituency may get better treatment with the availabiklity of constant power supply.
