BJP State Secretary & State Incharge Election Related Matters, Rajinder Sharma, addressed a press conference to aware the general masses about their voting rights and the procedure to correctly enroll them in the register.
Rajinder Sharma said that BJP has undertaken a special drive to aware the general public about their voting rights and especially focusing on the youth, who have just attained the requisite age for filling up of the form for the same.
He said that BJP has activated its teams at various levels of State, District, Mandal, Ward and Booth to address the queries and difficulties of public regarding the matter.
While elaborating on the matter, he said that Form No. 6 is to be filled for the inclusion of new names in the voter list, Form No.7 is needed to be filled for the deletion of name from the existing voter list due to any reason, Form No. 8 is to be filled for the correction of any mistake in the name or address of existing voter and Form No. 8-A is to be filled for the transposition of votes in the voter list.
Rajinder Sharma termed voter list as an effective weapon in the hands of common man in today’s era of democracy. He also said that voter card is an important authentic document which serves as the address proof as well as the identity card, so it is must to be carried by a person in many needs, making it more important to be amended or made within the time frame.
He also said that Booth Level Officer (BLO) can be contacted for their further queries in this matter and told that they will be available for public contact on any polling station on the 9th and 23rd July, so that anybody can visit them for their issues regarding the matter. BJP District Incharges of Election Related Matters, Shiv kumar Bali, R S Pura, Sat Paul Karlupia, Jammu West and Pawan Gupta, Akhnoor, were also present in the press conference.
