BJP condemns the grenade attack in Poonch: Sat Sharma

Reacting sharply to the blast in Poonch market, BJP State President & Jammu West MLA Sat Sharma CA, said,”the grenade attack near the Akhara Camp in Poonch targeting Hindu pilgrims heading for Buddaha Amarnath is a clear attempt at disturbing the communal harmony in the area and to discourage devotees from undertaking holy pilgrimage of Buddha Amarnath. BJP strongly condemns this cowardice act and warns the anti-national elements that they would not be allowed to succeed in their nefarious design. The cadre of BJP will fight all such elements tooth and nail and would provide full cooperation to the administration in maintaining peace in the area.” He was also critical of those unscrupulous miscreants who have posted hand written posters with the slogans “GO BACK,” asserting that these are being posted to create fear psychosis among the local population with a view to force them to remain away from the forthcoming independence day celebrations. Sat Sharma urged the local police and civil administration to nab at the earliest such miscreants before they are successful in fuelling the trouble further.
Sat Sharma also deplored Pakistan for the unprovoked ceasefire violation targeting civilian areas. It is a well- known fact that Pakistan is not able to digest the peace and tranquility that prevails in this border region due to the bonding between the residents and has been desperately trying to spread the arc of Wahabiyat and jihadi terrorism in south of Pir Panjal with active collaboration of Hurriyat, remarked Sat Sharma. Taking advantage of the ongoing unrest in Kashmir, the hostile elements want to fan the trouble in these peaceful areas in order to portray it as support for the unrest in Valley.
The BJP President advised the state government to act firmly against such hostile elements so that they are unable to succeed in their evil design and the area continues to remain peaceful. He also warned Pakistan to refrain from fomenting trouble in our state and should take care of the trouble brewing in POJK, Gilgit-Baltistan and stop committing atrocities on our brothers and sisters residing there. The demand for freedom from illegal occupation of Pakistan is gaining momentum in those areas and we are solidly behind the people of all Pak occupied areas, Sat Sharma added.
Before proceeding to participate in Tiranga rallies in Basohli, Sat Sharma visited the injured in GMC, Jammu, in early hours of Sunday. He enquired about their welfare and directed the hospital authorities to ensure that their treatment including medicines are provided free to them.
