BJP fulfilling its commitment towards PoJK refugees: Dr Narinder

BJP State General Secretary Dr. Narinder Singh, while addressing media persons at party headquarter on Saturday, said that the BJP stands committed to mitigate the problems of POJK refugees and is fulfilling its poll promise made to them.
Dr. Narinder Singh said that the successive government of Congress at the Centre only betrayed the PoJK refugees and did not bother to listen to their grievances and extend any kind of help. The BJP formed government under Atal Behari Vajpayee for the first time and it displayed concern towards these refugees when rupees 1.5 lakh each family was released as land deficiency financial compensation. Similarly, now when BJP has again came into power at the Centre, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sanctioned a financial package of rupees 2000 crores to be distributed among the PoJK refugees. It speaks loudly about the concern of BJP towards said refugees.
Dr. Narinder Singh made it clear that the package of rupees 2000 crores, which is under the process of distribution among the beneficiaries, is not final and the BJP will continue to seek more from the Union government. He said that to ensure transparency and check corruption, the exercise of distribution of the package is undertaken through online transfer method.
Dr. Narinder Singh said that the process and the required documentary proofs will also result in enlisting of the details of PoJK refugees and any future benefit will be directly transferred into their individual account.
The General Secretary further said that the party activists have been voluntarily helping the applicants for availing the financial package and any PoJK refugee, who comes across any problem in getting his or her claim case processed, can contact the party without any hesitation.
BJP State Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan and Refugee Cell State Convenor Pt. Ashok Khajuria were also present in the press conference.
