Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kashmir unit congratulated the party’s top leaders for making historic victory in Assam and ending 15 years of Congress rule in the north east state.
“After counting began, the BJP alliance sprinted past the halfway mark and continued on their lead in more than 70 constituencies to emerge victories,” Media In-Charge Kashmir, Altaf Thakur said in his congratulatory message.
He said BJP is all set to form government in Assam, along with poll partners and the credit for the victory goes to Narendra Modi, Party president Amit Shah and Ram Madhav. “It was only possible because of the efforts of Narendra Modi Ji, Amit Shah, Ram Madhav and Assam’s party leaders; and workers,” Thakur said.
Thakur also congratulated its Chief Ministerial candidate Sarbananda Sonowal- who has won in Majuli- for this victory.
“The state of Assam is a very important state of India when it comes to the politics, and governance of the country. Assam had an impact on the politics of the country, and BJP leadership is committed to usher new phase of development in the state,” Thakur added.
