As per the direction of BJP leadership to celebrate Raksha Bandhan on August 18 with soldiers by tying them ‘rakhis’, an initiative taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reach out to the soldiers guarding India’s borders, and internal security today a programme was organized by District Jammu unit of Mahila Morcha. District President BJP Mahila Morcha, Rekha Mahajan accompanied by State Secretary BJP and Sehprabhari of Jammu district Anuradha Charak and large number of Mahila Morcha activists tied rakhi to jawans and officers of the Army and Police personnel. Programme was conducted at BSF Headquarters Paloura Where DIG BSF Sh. Ram Avtar, Deputy Commandant Sh. SK Sharma organized the programme for Mahila Morcha activists on the Parv of Raksha Bandhan .On the occasion Mahila Morcha activists tied rakhi to officers and large number of jawans and offered sweets. Mahila Morcha Jammu District team also visited the office of SP South Sehzad Salaria at Gandhi Nagar and SDPO East IPS Sh.Chandan Kohli at Narwal and tied rakhies to the officers and other security personnel posted there. The programme was organised to make feel at home these security personnel who are not able to go back to their homes to meet their sisters just for the sake of protecting the common citizens and to maintain the law and order situation on their place of their postings. All the officers and other security persons were so delighted by this unexpected gesture of BJP Mahila Morcha activists. They also expressed their feeling to these Mahila Morcha activists about this particular moment and pledged that they will not allow anybody to challenge security, integrity and sovereignty of the country.
