BSNL need to improve its services in J&K: BJP

Expressing concern over growing discontent over the malfunctioning of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) by subscribers in Jammu and Kashmir, BJP has urged upon its senior officials to take the matter seriously and provide satisfactory services.

BJP State Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, while putting forth the resentment of the BSNL subscribers in the state, said that there has been repeated complaints against the poor functioning of the department as the people availing its services, particularly mobile and internet, are facing problems in their day to day working because the said facilities are not to the satisfaction, despite the fact that every consumer pays dues on time.
Balbir Ram Rattan said that be it capital cities, major towns or far flung and remote areas, the situation is no different. The people are unhappy and as a result every day many of them shift to other private telecom service providers, which is indeed very unfortunate.
The BJP Spokesperson said that BSNL, in comparison to private service providers, has best infrastructure with highly qualified, experienced technical staff, employees getting good salaries and perks, but still people are not provided desired services, which needs to be looked into as to who is responsible for it.
The most common problem being faced by the BSNL subscribers is related to “Call Dropping”, in which a call is suddenly cut off and one has to ring again. Many a times, this call dropping occurs so frequently that a single talk has to bear astronomical price. It is also one of the reasons for excessive billing. The most embarrassing situation arises when subscriber dials his or her own number and has to listen that the number you have dialed do not exist, the number is out of range or it is busy.
The people often complain that there might be a nexus between the local BSNL officials and those of private companies, which is a very serious matter and needs to be investigated and erring officials be booked if the allegations come true.
