Central government committed to J&K development: Kaul

Welcoming senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s statement that New Delhi was “ready to walk an extra mile” for Jammu and Kashmir, BJP State General Secretary (Org), Ashok Kaul termed the statement a positive development.

Kaul, while addressing party workers convention at Town Hall Baramulla said that New Delhi stands by its commitments for J&K and assured equitable development of all three regions of the State.
“His (Jaitley) statement should definitely help take the development process forward for the welfare of people in the state,” he said, adding, it is a step from the central government towards realizing the plight of people of Jammu and Kashmir and solving the same.
Kaul also thanked senior leader and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for registering a criminal case in Russia to probe the death of Yasir Javed, a Kashmiri student who died in Kazan city following an attack on him by a group of local goons.
With the efforts of BJP leadership at center India had sought a thorough probe into the incident and punishment to the guilty.
