Referring to the happenings in the opening session of the J&K state legislative assembly which met here after a gap of almost six months, Brig Anil Gupta, State Spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party took to task the Congress legislators for joining hands with National Conference in disrespecting the National Anthem. Coming only a day after the State Accountability Commission had directed the CS to strictly implement the Flag Code of India across the state and ensure there is no disrespect to symbols of nationalism, the behaviour of opposition legislators wherein they willfully insulted the national anthem is highly deplorable said Brig Gupta.
It is a matter of concern that the legislators of a national party namely Congress were also seen joining the ranks of valley centric parties to show disrespect to National Anthem. Brig Gupta warned the Congress legislators to be careful as the people will never forgive them for such a sin.
Brig Gupta reminded all the opposition legislators to not to forget that Jammu & Kashmir is an integral part of India and they have taken oath to uphold the sanctity of the Constitution of India. They should live up-to the oath taken by them and not let their narrow political thinking come in the way of that.
