Addressing a gathering of the members of weaker sections of the society in village Kairi falling in Mathwar Block of Nagrota Assembly Constituency, Balbir Ram Rattan, Vice-Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes & Backward Classes Development Corporation Limited, said that the Corporation is not working for any particular category people but it cater to the needs of half a dozen categories in the State, which include Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Physically Handicapped, Safai Karamchari and Minorities notified at National Level. This programme was organized by BJP Anusuchit Jaati Morcha Mathwar Mandal President Gouri Shanker with an objective of making the people aware of the different schemes of the Union as well as the State government meant for the social and economic empowerment of the poor and needy among the reserved categories.
Any unemployed person belonging to any of the reserved category can avail the benefits of the schemes of the Corporation, Balbir said and added that whosoever wants to get financial assistance in the form of loan is welcomed provided such aspirant fulfils all the required formalities.
BJP senior leader, Chaman Lal Kanathia, spoke on the pro-poor, pro-dalit, pro-youth, pro-women schemes launched by Narendra Modi government and those of the PDP-BJP coalition government.
BJP Mathwar Mandal President, Neelkanth Sharma, who conducted the proceedings of the programme, stressed upon the people not to sit idle but start own earning units by availing financial assistance.
Mandal President Gouri Shanker narrated the day to day problems faced by the people living in rural and far flung areas and asked the people to strengthen BJP as it is the only party which works on the principle of justice to all and appeasement to none.
The gathering was also addressed by Rakesh Angral, Jagdish Toofani, Hardesh Khokhar, Faqir Chand Azad, Manohar Lal, Kuldeep Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Goalji and Surjeet Kour.
