“Holds meeting of RDD, calls for speeding up works related to poor masses”
Carrying forward the mission of PDP-BJP state coalition government for a corruption free Jammu and Kashmir, Member Legislative Council Vibodh Gupta today chaired a meeting of the officials of Rural Development Department and asked them to speed up the pace of works, especially those connected with poor masses, at ground level.
The meeting was chaired by MLC Vibodh Gupta at Rajouri in which officials of Dhangri, Doongi, Rajouri and Panjgrian block of Rural Development Department took part.
Earlier officials of the department appraised MLC about the basic and burning problems being face by them which primarily include shortage of staff and infrastructure in newly constructed administrative units. They said that new administrative units are functioning under extreme shortage of manpower and necessary infrastructure which is affecting their functioning and there is immediate need to fill this shortage.
Later addressing the meeting MLC Vibodh Gupta assured that the matter about these new administrative units will be taken up with concerned quartets and especially in upcoming assembly session so that this shortage is overcome and all the administrative units function normally.
Vibodh also emphasized upon all the officials that the topmost priority of state coalition government is to have a corruption free system in state and government servants are the ones who have to fulfill this priority.
“Rural Development Department is directly connected with people on ground and I want transparency in its work by all aspects ” MLC said.
While reviewing the status of developmental works MLC called for a need to pace up these works and especially those ones which are connected to poor masses at ground.
“There should be no delay in execution and payment of MGNREGA, IAY and other such schemes of poor masses and we all have to work to provide a helping hand to poor people ” MLC said.
Many senior officers of Rural Development Department were present in the meeting.
