R.S Pura, A free eye camp was organized by Gurudwara Prabandak Committee Chohalla, N.G.O Jeevan Jyoti and Dr.K.D Singh Eye Hospital, Pathankot Punjab,with the Co-operation of Village Development Committee, of Village Chohalla R.S Pura under the presidentship of Shamsher Singh Chohalvi.The camp was inaugurated by Dr Gagan Bhagat, M.L.A R.S Pura. About 350 patients were examined by a team of doctors and paramedical staff headed by Dr.Bhawana and her team. Among them many patients were identified for operation which is to be carried in Jammu and check up will be done with the provision of Diet, Medicine and medical care. While addressing the gathering of Prominent persons of the locality along with the members from various organizations. “How busy you may be but always make it a point to do one good act a day. It not only helps you to attain utmost satisfaction but also promote different social activities around you and result into development of the country as a whole,” stated Dr.Gagan Bhagat inaugurating the free eye camp at Chohalla, R.S Pura..He further said that Union health ministry has been doing lot of work regarding “Healthy and Disease free Eyes”, and in this regard National program for Control of Blindness , which was launched in the year 1976 is a 100% centrally sponsored program, the main focus of which is to develop Eye Care infrastructure throughout the country, increase institutional capacity for eye care, expand coverage to underserved areas ,decentralization to district level, human Resource Development for Eye Care at all levels, improvement in quality of eye care for better visual outcome, secure participation of non-government and private sector. He appreciated the work of G.P.C and especially Jeevan Jyoti N.G.O , he also announced that the government will perform the surgeries free of cost for the poor patients. He maintained that everyone should come forward and participate in this free eye camp, and such camps will be organized in other villages of R.S Pura Constituency. Later on the President of the G.P.C Chohalla thanked Dr.Gagan Bhagat for his support . People of the area appreciated this gesture of the Legislator. On the occasion Cpt(Rtd) Sadhoo Ram ,Narinder Choudhary, Ajay Kumar, Yograj Singh ,Noubat Ram,B.M.O R.S Pura, S.H.O R.S Pura,B.D.O R.S Pura, Ex-Panches and Ex-Sarpanches along with other prominent persons and others were present .
