R.S Pura,3rd August.On Wednesday M.L.A from R.S Pura Constituency Dr.Gagan Bhagat along with Sub-Divisional administration visited the Nari Niketan and Balashram situated at Ward No.10 R.S Pura to assure that the said shelter homes are fit for the inmates as on date or not.It is pertinent to mention here that the torrential rains that made Nari Niketan and Balashram submerged in the rain water first time in the history of the town was the worst hit place due the torrential rains and subsequent water logging. The inmates were immediately shifted to Roopnagar Jammu at the Working Women Hostel, on the directions of M.L.A R.S Pura Dr.Gagan Bhagat as these two shelter homes badly suffered, the furniture, food store, general store and the inmates rooms were completely damaged. Dr.Gagan visited every section and corner of the Nari Niketan and Bal Ashram and individually interacted with the inmates to know the problems they were facing. Later on he called the Minister for social welfare Sajad Lone and demanded immediate renovation and repair of the Shelter homes .The Legislator also visited Tehsil Social Welfare Office, Women Development Corporation building and the Child Development Project Office and took a brief meeting of the officers and discussed important issues regarding Old Age, Widow and Disabled persons pension and other benefits, he directed them to consider the cases of Widows and disabled persons on top priority and reduce the pendency of the Old age pensions in the R.S Pura Constituency early as possible. Later on he also visited the adjoining Municipal wards 10 and 11 and interacted with the local residents ,shopkeepers and discussed their demands and some of the old standing issues regarding drainage system ,at Ward No.11 he directed the E.O Municipal Committed to demolish the old culvert near Gurudwara and construct a new one immediately as it was the main reason of Water logging in that area .He also directed the administration to speed up the work on the Waterlogging and drainage system plan for R.S Pura which was sanctioned in the recently concluded D.D.B Meeting chaired by the Dy.CM Dr.Nirmal Singh amounting to Rs. 42 Lacs, and after that plan is implemented the problem of water logging in R.S Pura Municipal limits will be tackled broadly. He also instructed S.D.M R.S Pura to call a meeting within two days to discuss the work done till date in case of the torrential rains affected area of R.S Pura Constituency ,as people from different villages were informing him that the revenue officials till date have not visited the area. Dr.Gagan Bhagat strictly gave directions to the Sub-Divisional administration that fake reports will not be tolerated and the official who is found doing so will be dealt sternly under the law, he also asked the local inhabitants to call him directly and inform him regarding any type of complaint regarding the Patwaris & Girdawars and other revenue officials . Tehsildaar R.S Pura, SHO R.S Pura, CDPO R.S Pura, TSWO R.S Pura, E.O R.S Pura, AEE Flood Control, AEE Town Drainage, Natharam, Inder Sudan,Bishan Dass,Ashok Salaria ,Gurdeep Singh, Manmohan Singh, Rajesh Kumar and others accompanied the M.L.A R.S Pura on his visit.
