Dr.Gagan distributes free  LPG  Connections, conducts R.K.S Meeting

M.L.A R.S Pura Dr.Gagan Bhagat third time distributed Free L.P.G Cylinder under the Prime Ministers Ujjwala Yojna here at R.S Pura , he congratulated the females who recieved free L.P.G connections belonging to the B.P.L of the area. Consumers are currently entitled to 12 cylinders of 14.2 kg each or 34 bottles of 5 kg each in a year at subsidised rates. PMUY scheme provides subsidy of Rs 1,600 to the women beneficiaries, comprising security deposit of 14.2 kg cylinder, domestic pressure regulator, domestic gas consumer card and administration charges, among others. Dr.Gagan Bhagat said while addressing the gathering that Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) in R.S Pura Constituency and elsewhere in the country will provide free LPG connections to BPL households. The move have benefitted 3.7 crore households living below the poverty line in the whole country till date, and is highest ever connections in a year, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India have planned 5 Crore connections over the next three years. Dr.Gagan Bhagat gave away free LPG connections to 90 women from BPL families from villages in and around R.S Pura Constituency, he maintained that he will work on updating the social economic caste census (SECC) data, so that no deserving female is left out of the list. Currently the identification of BPL families is done through 2011 SECC data. More than one crore people in the country have given up LPG subsidies and are buying cooking gas at market price now. As of April 2016, Maharashtra tops the list with 16.44 lakh consumers giving up subsidies, followed by Uttar Pradesh where nearly 13 lakh users gave up subsidies and Delhi with 7.26 lakh people giving up subsidies. Dr.Gagan Bhagat requested the residents of R.S Pura Constituency to come forward and surrender their subsidies so that weaker section of the society is benefitted. LPG subsidy is transferred to beneficiaries directly in their bank accounts. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had in his last Budget had kept Rs 2,000 Crore to provide free LPG connections to 1.5 Crore women belonging to B.P.L families. Further, Dr.Gagan said that the scheme will be continued for two more years to cover 5 Crore households in next three years. PMUY was launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2016. Dr.Gagan Bhagat also said that the Union Government is working towards setting up the country’s biggest refinery on the west coast which will help generate nearly one lakh jobs. Also, the Union Govt. led by the Bhartiya Janta Party would focus on welfare of petrol pump workers, taxi and auto drivers as well as women.On the occasion A.D Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, T.S.O R.S Pura ,T.S.O Miran Sahib, Senior Sales officers of Hindustan Petroleum ,BJP Mahila Morcha State Secretary Monika Sharma, Distt. President , Brijesh Rana, Mandal Pradhan Natharam ,BJP Mahila Morcha Distt. President Neelam Sharma, BJP office bearers from R.S Pura, Prominent persons of the locality and persons from N.G.Os were present. Later on Dr.Gagan Bhagat also chaired Rogi Kalyan Samiti meeting at the Community Health Centre at R.S Pura, where he directed the staff to be more punctual.Several decisions were taken besides setting up Canteen facility for the patients and attendants who visit the hospital from the border villages during wee hours.He directed the BMO to engage safai karamcharis , so that a clean environment is maintained in the hospital premises.
