Farmers Awareness Camp inaugurated
BJP Legislative Party Leader & Ex-Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh today started the work of Blacktopping of various road projects in Billawar constituency worth Rs. 630 Lakh including Billawar town, Billawar- Shri Sukrala Mata Shrine, Billawar -Phinter-Bhaddu and as part of the commitment to develop the constituency as a model constituency.
Dr. Nirmal Singh later inaugurated a Farmers Awareness camp at Lakhri organized by Agriculture department. Speaking on the occasion he stressed upon the farmers to take benefits of the various schemes launched by NDA government. He appealed the Governor NN Vohra to immediately launch PM Fasal Beema Yojna so that farmers of the state especially kandi area can take the benefit. He asked the state administration to provide compensation to the farmers hit due to drought like conditions in the state. He said that during the recent budget Prime Minister Narendra Modi has earmarked major amount for the Agriculture sector. BJP wants the welfare of the farmers and their growth.
He said that during his tenure as MLA in last one year, Billawar got more than Rs. 200 Cr developmental projects including nursing college, Rs. 47 cr worth bridge at Jathana, Indoor Stadium at Billawar, Dyalachak to Challan National Highway and Lakhanpur-Basohli-Dunera Highway etc. “Government of India has sanctioned Rs. 780 Crores for strengthening of the road network in the state.”
Dr. Nirmal Singh said that prime focus is to provide basic amenities to the people of Billawar constituency. He said under Integrated Housing Slum Development Project, Rs. 30 lakh have been distributed among the beneficiaries of Billawar town.
Prominent among others present were Chief Agriculture officer Vipen Sambyal, SDM Rajeshwar Charak, XEn PWD(R&B) Suman, BJP leaders Narayan Dutt, Surinder Bloria, Ganesh Basotra, Mukesh Khajuria, Kuldeep Abrol, Amrik Singh, Satish Sharma and Gopal Basotra.
