Speaker J&k legislative Assembly and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta took a whirlwind tour of Gandhi Nagar; took first hand appraisal of development works and held various public meetings.
The Speaker visited Nai Basti, Digiana, Gandhi Nagar, kunjwani and addressed people at these places.
Speaking on the occasion, the speaker said, with the installation of Modi led NDA government at the centre, the economy of the country has seen a upward movement and the same can be witnessed from the increasing trust of the world community in Indian economy.
Assuring the people of Nai basti and other areas, the Speaker sought two months time to remodel the areas and built the drainage and road network at par with metro cities.
Lambasting what he called the duplicity of the so called leaders with separatist mind set, the Speaker said that the recent developments in the Kashmir valley is the outcome of the irresponsible and deviating statements issued by the self styled leaders.
Challenging these leaders to show guts, he said, if they really mean business, they should set an example by offering their own children for the so called freedom struggle and stop giving sermons from their highly protected homes.
He cautioned people to beware of the divisive tactics used by some vested interests and keep their faith in the working of the BJP-PDP government which is committed for the welfare of the masses.
Lauding the efforts of the Indian army in eliminating the militants in the recent encounters at Tral, he said, the army is doing commendable job and the locals should also extend their full support to the army and advise their children not to get trapped in the jaws of radical separatism.
Talking on the development front, the Speaker said that there is no scarcity of funds and the state has received handsome amount from the centre government for boosting tourism, industry, roads & buildings, education, health and other sectors.
