BJP State Professional Cell, under its State Convenor Deepak Kapahi and in collaboration with Busy Infotech, held one day workshop on the Goods & Services Tax (GST) for the awareness of BJP State Office Bearers, MLAs and MLCs at State Headquarter, Trikuta Nagar.
Experts Vinod Kashyap from Next Gen Knowledge Solutions, CAs Raj Chawla and Kamal Yadav, gave detailed knowledge and insight about the GST, its benefits, implication and applicability for the trader community in presence of BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh, Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta and MLC Ashok Khajuria, who inaugurated the event.
Sat Sharma, while addressing the gathering, said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA Government at the Centre is committed to take decisive and bold decisions for the growth of the country. While applauding the PM for the introduction of GST law, he said that the economy of country will see a spurt in the initial days itself by its execution. GST will help India to be a global Nation, he added.
Dr. Nirmal Singh said that J&K is a consumer State as compared to the other States of the country, so our State will be particularly benefitted by the introduction of this law. Earlier, he said, the tax paid by the residents of the State for Goods used to go into the treasure of Manufacturing States, but with the introduction of this law, tax generated here will be used for the developmental works in the State.
Vinod Kashyap, while giving the overview of GST, said that its introduction into the Indian Tax Structure is a single biggest tax reform undertaken since independence to usher into a new era. He said that this will be a step for “One Nation, One Tax”. He said that GST is a consumption based tax levied on sale, manufacture and consumption of goods and services at National level, under which no distinction is made between goods and services for levying tax. He said that instead of multiple taxes at different levels, this single tax will ease the system of taxation to increase the compliance of traders.
Raj Chawla, while speaking on the occasion, said that introduction of GST will benefit both the Government and the tax payer and strengthen the revenue of Government providing more funds for the development purposes. He said that today everything is technology based and this online system will help to clear tax related corruption and malpractices. He said that Government is willing to take every type of suggestions on the issue to make this tax system more consumer and trader friendly. He said that this will introduce the uniformity of the rates throughout the country and both the Central as well as the State Governments will get benefit by its implementation.
Kamal Yadav while elaborating on the working of GST, said that the GST accounting soft-wares like BUSY is all set to be used by the trader community. All the new amendments related to the software are already been done in the soft-wares, so that the transition from VAT to GST will be done in an easy method in a fraction of moment.
