The Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh said the government will address the concerns of the diploma engineers so that their career progression does not suffer.
The deputy chief mister was addressing a deputation of association of the diploma engineers led by its office bearers.
Commissioner/Secretary Irrigation and PHE, Mr Sanjiv Verma, Secretary Technical PDD, Mr Asgar Ali Majaz and other senior officers of the R&B, PHE, PDD were present on the occasion.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the government will ensure the time bound redress of the all the issues concerning the diploma engineers and the necessary instructions have already been passed to the concerned departments that they get their due share. He said the issues regarding the stagnation and career progression of diploma engineers will also be addressed in a time-bound manner.
The deputations also raised some other issues like enhancement of the fixed TA, maintenance of cadre strength at the level of Assistant Executive Engineer and Executive Engineer and more importantly the Adoption of the Punjab Pattern which would remove stagnation of Diploma Holders at the level of Junior Engineers.
Dr Singh assured them these issues would also be considered and directed the officers present to work out a comprehensive mechanism by which early redress would be worked out.
