Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Media Incharge Kashmir, Altaf Thakur appealed Election Commission of India and Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir to grant an ex-gratia relief and a job to one of the family members of the mini- bus driver, killed during election duty by a mob at Taing Pora Bypass- Batamalloo, on 10th April.
�Ali Muhammad Daga, 55, of Berthana Qamarwari, Srinagar- was killed after a mob attacked the polling staff with stones at Taing Pora Bypass- Batamalloo on 10th April.� Thakur said.
He said that Daga is survived by two unmarried daughters, a son and his wife. The family lives in a tin-shed at Qamarabad Barthana area of Qamarwari Srinagar.
They are finding it hard to believe that the sole bread-earner of the family is no more. �The deceased used to drive a mini-bus of his neighbor and was earning the livelihood by driving the bus,� he said.
Thakur also appealed Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir for strict action against the miscreants responsible for the killing.
