Ranbir Singh Pathania MLA Ramnagar Assembly constituency today vowed to fight tooth and nail for materialising decades old demand of the public to set up a Government Degree College at Majalta. Addressing a largely attended public meetings at various places in Majalta Tehsil he said that successive political parties and leaders have time and again resorted to hobnobbing and politicking over this sensitive issue which directly or indirectly touches nearly 1.00 lac people of Majalta, Samba, Ramkot and even parts of Ramnagar tehsil and will be fed by pass outs from nearly 10 Higher Secondary schools in the area. He said that due to improper representation and vested political interests this college could not come up despite being the most deserving case throughout the State, and qualifying the norms and standards laid down by University Grants Commission (UGC) in this regard. Mr Pathania told the people that, he shall raise this issue of Degree College in the upcoming District Development Board meeting and Assembly session and will not rest until the formal orders in this regard are issued by Government.
