Dr Jitendra, Sat, Bali, Jugal join public
International Yoga Day Coordination Committee, Jammu, in collaboration with AYUSH Department organized 3rd Yoga Day event at Brahman Sabha, Parade.
Venue for the event was earlier fixed to be Mini Stadium but due to sudden rains, it was shifted to nearby Brahman Sabha.
Union MoS Dr. Jitendra Singh, BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma, Minister for Health & Medical Education Bali Bhagat, Lok Sabha MP Jugal Kishore Sharma and a large number of prominent citizens were among those who joined the public.
Dr. Jitendra Singh, while speaking as the Chief Guest in the programme, praised the initiative taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to expand Yoga throughout the world and people across the globe have realized the benefit of Yog for health, peace and tranquillity in the society.
Sat Sharma, on this occasion, said that Yoga is a mean of multiple benefits for people of every age level and costs nothing for one who practise this ancient way of remaining healthy. He declared that Indoor Stadium with cost of Rs. 4 crore will be constructed in Jammu adding that he will also provide sufficient fund for promotion of Yog
Bali Bhagat, in his address, said that AYUSH department of J&K Government has organized similar programmes in all the district headquarters of the state and expressed hope that the Department shall promote Yoga way of life throughout the year in the state.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, said that it is matter of great satisfaction that Yog has reached to the villages, even in the remote and far-flung areas the people have started practising Yog and made it part of their routine life. The idea of the Prime Minister to spread Yog throughout the country shall soon start yielding the fruits.
Convenor Adv. Chander Mohan Sharma expressed gratitude towards the participants particularly members of Bharatiya Yog Sansthan, Paratanjali Yog Peeth and Dr. TR Raina, Yog Exponent. He extended his gratitude to Divisional and District administration, AYUSH Department, JMC, Information Department, PHE, JK Police and Print & Electronic Media for their wholehearted support to make the programme successful.
Senior functionaries of the administration were also participated in the event.
Meanwhile, CRPF Bn 76-B and 160 Bn held the celebrations of International Yoga Day at Channi Himmat Park in which BJP All Cells Incharge S. Varinderjit Singh was the chief guest.
