Speaker J&K Assembly and MLA, Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta today undertook extensive tour of various areas of Gandhi Nagar Constituency and reviewed the progress of ongoing works.
He was accompanied by the officers of the PWD(R&B), Rural Development Department (RDD), PHE, PDD, Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC), Revenue, forest department and local social activist.
The Speaker inaugurated upgraded transformers at Sector 6, 9 & 11 of Nanak Nagar, Dharap Kothey and Bhour Camp. He also inaugurated the construction work for lane and drain at Channi Himmat, Trikuta Nagar, Shankar Nagar and Gorkha Nagar.
Locals appreciated the efforts put in by the Speaker for redressing their problems in a time bound manner; they also expressed their gratitude for upgrading the transformers which will give them a respite from the frequent power breakdowns.
The Speaker held various public darbars and listened to the grievances of the people; where they projected some demands which include stadium at Gadhigarh, Bus service in Preet Nagar, Jeevan Nagar upto Maraliyan, Library for civil services and other competitive exam aspirants and also came forward with some suggestions pertaining to development of the area.
While interacting with the people, the speaker said maximum of their demands have already been taken up with the concerned departments and the transport facility will be provided to each and every corner of this constituency; the construction of stadium at Gadhigarh have been taken with the union minister for sports & youth services and the same will come up very soon here, providing a better platform for the youth to explore its caliber, he added.
Stating that the state government is committed to give every possible service to the masses, he said that it will be seen that no area of not only his constituency but the whole state is left behind in terms of development.
Making a appeal to the locals and the party activists in particular, he said that it is also their responsibility to propagate the achievements of the state as well as centre government and also to aware the masses about various welfare schemes launched by the government so that maximum benefit can be availed by needy person.
