Strongly condemning the recent incident of stone pelting and creating violence in peaceful town of Mendhar by National Conference workers, the State unit of BJP has charged NC of fomenting trouble in Jammu province for political gains. Having been voted out of power in last elections in one of its worst electoral defeat because of anti people and directionless governance by Omar Abdullah, NC is trying hard to bounce back, albeit unsuccessfully by whatever means. From writing inciting statements on Twitter abetting violence to making statements for trying to remain in good book of separatists, NC is sitting in lap of Hurriyat and fanning trouble in peaceful Poonch district to please its new found friends and bosses.
BJP State Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, while terming the Mendhar incident as most unfortunate and an attempt to disturb the peaceful atmosphere in Jammu province, said that for NC there are no principles or morality left in politics and they are changing colors with each passing day like chameleon as otherwise people have even forgotten their existence in the changed political scenario of the state. After leading the party into its worst performance on the advice of politically immature advisors, Omar Abdullah is putting the final nails in the coffins of his party by playing with the lives of innocent people.
“From a party which could form government on its own in the past to a party which is having lowest number of seats in assembly and no seat in Parliament, National Conference is still searching as to what has struck it and is in its efforts to revive its sinking fortunes”, Balbir said and added that NC had even recalled Dr. Farooq Abdullah, who was in retirement after being upstaged by his son to become Chief Minister, but his comeback has created more problems for party.
The Mendhar incident seems to be a deep rooted conspiracy chalked out by NC with the separatists to extend the agenda of the Hurriyat in Jammu province by resorting to forcibly shut down of shops and other establishments, as is being practiced in Kashmir for long by Hurriyat leaders. The suspicion is also vindicated by the recent developments, wherein Dr. Farooq Abdhullah has publically expressed support towards Hurriyat.
