On the eve of the commencement of holy “Navratras”, BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma (C.A) alongwith State Secretary & State Incharge ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’ Er. Ghulam Ali Khatana, State Convener ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’ Bhupinder Singh, launched cleanliness drive from the premises of Kali Mata temple in Bahu Fort on Friday in presence of a large number of party activities and devotees.
Sat Sharma, on this occasion, said that the first nationwide programme launched by Narendra Modi after assuming the chair of Prime Minister, was “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan” and he himself led the people to get associated with it. During the last two years, it has become a mass movement and today people are more conscious about the need and importance of cleanliness. He said that BJP has been organizing cleanliness campaigns at different levels in the state through its ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’ teams.
Sat Sharma said that the holy navratras are starting on Saturday and during these nine days, there is heavy rush of pilgrims to Hindu temples and other religion places. As the flow of pilgrims goes high, the premises of such places need regular cleanliness. He appealed the people to not throw wastes here and there but use the dustbins etc. and also educate the others to contribute in maintaining sanctity and cleanliness of such places.
Er. Ghulam Ali Khatana, spoke on the various programmes being undertaken under ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’ adding that educational institutions, NGOs, social organizations and general public is involved to make the campaign successful. He said that exclusive sub teams are being constituted to work for extending the programme for cleanliness of water bodies, industrial areas and all such places which are the hubs of tourism, religious and sports activities.
Bhupinder Singh said that during the last two years a lot has been done to reach the masses at district, Mandal, ward and booth levels but still more is needed and the party activists are working to contact every section and people related to different professions to seek their support in bringing change in the society. He appealed the people to contribute in making the two year programms on October 2 successful.
