Promoting a noble cause to help the disabled, State President BJP and MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) handed over TVS Wego Scooty to a disabled girl namely Monika Nargotra, resident of Rehari Chungi area of Ward Number 8. Accompanied by a large number of people, Sharma handed over the two wheeler in the presence of officials of Social Welfare Department, many locals of the area including social and political activists as well. The scooty was donated by the CDF (Constituency Development Fund) scheme of the MLA costing Rupees sixty thousand.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that it is our duty to help these children who are the future of our nation. He said due to mishappenings in the life of Monika, she lost her ability to walk properly and keeping other things in mind as well it was decided that a two wheeler must be given to the girl so that she can commute anywhere freely without the help of others.
He also appreciated the efforts of social welfare department as well and stated that there are certain schemes of Department as well under which disabled persons are provided with relief and it will be seen in the coming days that such persons will be located in the Constituency and every possible help will be provided to them through various schemes.
The residents of the area also hailed the initiative of the MLA by helping the needy in every noble cause.
