Fulfilling the long pending demand of residents of Sarwal area of Jammu West, State President BJP and MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) kickstarted macdamization works of Sarwal road. Accompanied by a large number of people including officials of ERA (Economic Reconstruction Agency), many local residents and political activists were also present on the occasion.
The works will be done under the supervision of ERA at an estimated cost of around Rupees 40 lakhs. The stretch covered under the works will start from Sarwal Chowk to Vikas Nagar Neel Kanth Temple and 6 inches BM will be laid under the same.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that though this work of macdamization was delayed but before this work, projects pertaining to laying of new water pipes and setting of new sewerage system was the priority as the pipes were not changed from the last four decades and pipes of sewerage and water were damaged in many parts of Sarwal area and that was the reason of taking up macdamization works at this time after improving the system of water and sewerage in the area so that best possible services could be provided to the masses.
He also stated that now no more digging will take place in the area as the system of laying of sewerage system and water supply line has been done for upgradation of sanitation system and water supply system in the area.
