To review the progress of ongoing project of ERA (Economic Reconstruction Agency) concerning laying and rehabilitation of water pipes in various areas of Jammu West Assembly segment, State President BJP and MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) along with officials of ERA and local residents toured the areas where the works of laying new water pipes is in progress. Pertinent to mention, the cost of the project is Rupees 72.98 crores which has been financed under the Asian Development Bank (ADB) scheme.
In a press statement issued, Sat Sharma said that till date 25 kilometres of water pipe has been laid in Mohinder Nagar and adjoining areas where the work is in progress and he said that the scheme will benefit common man a lot as a Manifold complex has been constructed in Mohinder Nagar area it will stop the leakages of pipes and the whole system of water suplly in other areas will also be monitored through the manifold in order to supply clean water to the residents of Jammu West.
He also stated that a total of 180 kilometres of pipes will be laid so that approximately 10000 households could get benefit from the fresh water supply scheme in Jammu west Constituency. He also visited Shakti Nagar, Rajpura, Vasant Vihar, New Plot and other areas where the works for laying of water pipes will start in coming days and he also said that the deadline set for laying of these pipes has been set upto December, 2016.
