A deputation consisting of a large number of people hailing from Green Enclave Ward 24, Rehari Colony met BJP President and MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) who apprised him of the problems being faced by the locals from last two days concerning damage of the second transformer in two days because of the cables laid down by IRCON which caught fire and caused short circuit to transformers installed by the PDD department at their area. Taking a serious note on that, Sharma called upon the officials of PDD and toured the area along with locals and officials of department and it was brought to a consensus that a new transformer bearing capacity of 250 KVA will immediately be installed in the area following to which directions were passed by the MLA to the concerned department to immediately take up its works.
Sharma also visited Panchi Nagar, Rehari Colony, Rajpura along with the officials of PDD, PHE, ERA and JMC and extensively toured almost each and every lane and it was brought to his notice by the locals that there are certain areas which still have leakages of water pipes and after works were done by ERA of laying new sewerage system and water pipes, the holes were not filled properly, following to which accidents could also happen if anyone was travelling on two wheelers.
Sharma took serious concern of the problems and directed the officials of ERA and PHE to immediately check and stop leakages of pipes and also cover the holes so that within days, the works of Black Topping of roads could be done in Ward 24, Rehari Colony. He also toured Hari Singh Nagar and Panchi Nagar areas along with locals and officials where Black Topping works are on a stage of completion.
The locals also expressed their gratitude to MLA and hailed his quick action to the problems of masses.
