DyCM dedicates Road and PHE projects to people of Billawar

DyCM, Dr Nirmal Singh today asserted that raising demands in front of elected representatives and asking them to complete it in shortest possible time is the true spirit of democracy.
Dr Singh said this while kick starting macadamization of 4 KM road from Mangloor to Jakhole in Billawar constituency to be executed by Public Works (R & B) Department costing Rs 1 Crore and 10 Lakhs.
At the outset several deputations met the DyCM at village Mangloor and apprised him of their demands which mainly consists of Dispensary, Veterinary Hospital, Hand Pumps, Transformers in low voltage area and Tube Well for Mangloor Panchayat.
After hearing patiently to their demands, DyCM assured them that their problems will be resolved in shortest span of time with special attention on the issues of PHE and PDD as in summer season these problems need to be addressed on priority. After hearing people problem that some areas are not getting PHE supply, the minister immediately directed the officers of PHE to restore the water supply at the earliest. He also said that several transformers of the area have been upgraded but due to constant demand raised by the people of Kandi area 4 new transformers will be provided to them for augmenting the PDD infra of Kandi area. He further added that separate electricity line will be given to PHE Department so that their functioning can`t be affected and populace of the area get PHE supply evenly. On the spot electric poles were also sanctioned by the minister to the persons who demanded poles and electric wires.
DyCM also directed the executing agency to meet all the specifications while macadamizing the Mangloor-Jakhole road. Underscoring his achievements, Dr Singh said that in the past 2 years an amount of Rs 4 Crores has been dedicatedly spent on augmenting PDD infra and half of the CDF amount is earmarked for augmenting PHE infra so that populace of the area can get basic amenities of Water and Electricity supply uninterruptedly. He further assured the villagers that their demand of Dispensary and Veterinary Hospital will be taken care of besides restoring defunct Hand Pumps.
DyCM directed Tehsildar, Dinga Amb to organize a mega camp to highlight all the 73 welfare schemes so that people can be sensitized and get motivated to take benefit from these schemes. He further directed the Tehsildar to devise a mechanism through which on the spot documents like Income Certificate can be issued to the persons during the camp who want to be the beneficiary of these schemes and these camps should become a routine for maximum propagation of welfare schemes of the Government.
Later, the DyCM along with Minister for Public Health and Engineering (PHE), Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary inaugurated Water Supply Scheme (WSS) at Katli of Billawar under NRDWP at an estimated cost of Rs 1 Crore and 98 Lakhs for improving/augmenting water supply scenario by creating assets in the shape of Tube Wells, Water Tanks etc. Thus, benefitting 5000 souls of village Soukhal, Katli, Mohra Dhar, Prangoli, Pucca Kotha and Mohalla Kanater.
Addressing people at Katli, minister Sham Lal said that the present dispensation is committed to provide drinking water to every house of the State provided people should also cooperate with them by judiciously using these basic amenities. He also informed that a project costing Rs 65 Crores will augment and improve the PHE infra of Kathua and announced 30 Hand Pumps for Billawar to mitigate the scarcity of drinking water at far flung areas along with new and stand by machinery. He further added that Shahpur Kandi project will prove to be a game-changer in irrigating barren lands of Kathua and the Govt. is concerned for its early initiation.
At Katli, DyCM also called for early completion of incomplete water supply schemes through comprehensive planning and exhorted upon the officers of PHE and PDD department to work in tandem with each other, as to get regular water supply people are dependent on both PHE and PDD.
Among others Chief Engineer PHE, Sushil Aima; Chief Engineer Irrigation, Rajiv Gandotra ; XENs of all the concerned departments, AEEs, Tehsildar and SDPO border were accompanying the ministers during their visit.
