Vibodh Urges for greater participation of Students, Teachers, Parents and Local residents in Swachata Campaign
Vibodh Gupta MLC, Rajouri in a simple and impressive function, distributed the Award letters regarding Construction of Houses under “Housing for All” to six beneficiaries, under centrally sponsored Scheme ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’ launched by Prime Minister of India, with an aim to provide assistance to the poor and economically downtrodden for constructing residential houses in Urban area. Executive Officer Municipality Rajouri along with other officers/officials of Urban Local Bodies remained present.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta said that providing Award letters each amounting to Rs.1.66 Lacs for construction of House (with two Bed rooms, Kitchen, Bathroom with a specific design), which shall be transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), aims to provide the shelter to the Houseless people of the State in a transparent manner which also reduces corruption in the disbursement of incentives.
Gupta while speaking on the occasion said that, House is the primary requirement of the public. He feels happy, to say that State and Centre Govt. is committed for providing Shelter to the houseless population under Housing for all by 2022, under PMAY, wherein beneficiary will be provided a pucca house with all basic amenities. Gupta further said that in Rajouri Town, 377 cases have been identified, which shall be covered under PMAY, out of which 72 cases shall be provided Award letters within couple of days.
Gupta said that the assistance is targeted at those who are genuinely deprived and the selection is objective and verifiable. He said PMAY- instead of selecting a beneficiary from among the BPL households, selects beneficiaries using housing deprivation parameters in the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011 which is to be further verified by Executive Officer Municipalities.
Gupta also asked the officers of Urban Local bodies and Housing Urban Development Department to create awareness among the masses. He also elaborated that for Construction of Houses under PMAY, subsidized loans are also available for Middle Income Group/ High Income Group under DUDA, which was earlier catering only economically weaker sections. He also complimented the role of various officers and field functionaries for their endeavours.
Gupta said that in District Rajouri various centrally sponsored schemes are being implemented and people must get regular updates on various developmental programmes of the state and schemes launched by the central Government like Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana, National Health Mission, Shyama Prasad Mukherji Urban Mission, , Pardhan mantra Ujaval Yojna, PMAY, Soil Health Card Scheme, Swatchh Bharat Abhiyan, MGREGA, Skill India, Kissan Vikas Patra (KVP) Re-Introduced, Integrated Ganga Conservation Mission ‘Namami Gange’, Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Yojana, Digital India Programme, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana and Atal Pension Yojna. He impressed upon the officers to ensure that the benefits of these schemes, even for the last man of the society.
Gupta the only legislator of District Rajouri, who has adopted Boys Hr. Secondary School Rajouri, also visited the institution, where took stock of the various activities going on in the school. Gupta also participated in the Swachata Campaign going all over the India, with the slogan Swachata Hi Seva Hai “Cleanliness is service” along with the School Students. Gupta appreciated the Principal of the School, Abdul Raouf Dar, for organising various programmes on “Swachata Hi Seva”, like rallies, poster making Competitions etc. Gupta asked the Staff of the Institution to ensure the elimination regarding the use of poly bags. He stressed on making village residents aware about the hazards of polythene on the health of humans, soil and cattle through Students. Gupta asked the staff, for special drives to be conducted, all over the district to spread awareness against the usage of polythene and promote use of jute bags. Gupta also asked the Principal of the School, to organise the Symposium to inculcate the spirit of competition, which shall also develop a sense of cleanliness among them.
