Shri Daljit Singh Chib visited a far flung and remote village namely Pargawal-Nikowal which is the last village on Indo-Pak Boarder in chamb constituency and assessed the loss caused due to accidental fire which broke out in the wheat crops there during the night of 21-22 April,2016. He was accompanied by Dr. K.L.Bhagat, MLA Chamb and other officers of Revenue and Electric Department .
During his visit he was told that around 70 Kanals of standing wheat crop besides various water pumping sets have been totally damaged due to the fire with the result the poor farmers have been left high and dry.
Mr. Chib expressed his sympathies with the effecting farmers and demanded that Government should immediately provide relief to the suffers as they are very poor and hardly make their both ends meet. Mr. Chib directed the revenue officials to assess the loss the send their report to the concerned authorities at the earliest and ascertain the reason of fire so that preventive measures are taken in anticipation. He took up the matter with Deputy Commissioner Jammu for providing permanent firefighting gadgets in the area so that in future any untoward incident is prevented.
The prominent farmers who lost their crops are Karnail Singh S/o Kaka Singh Chib R/o Chibbey Check Bela Jammu. Girdhari Lal S/o Gogal Chand R/o Nikowal , Tarseem Singh S/o Vakil Singh R/o BhawalMullo, Bihari Lal S/o Sain Dass R/o Channi Tanda, Sat Pal S/o Majetha Singh.
