Shri Kavinder Gupta urges voters to set new voting records in final phase of DDC polls

Former Deputy Chief Minister Shri Kavinder Gupta today asked voters to cast their ballots in maximum number and set a new voting record in the eighth and final phase of District Development Council elections.

“Tomorrow is the eighth and last phase of voting in DDC polls. I request all voters to participate in this holy festival of democracy in greater numbers and set a new voting record,” the former Deputy Chief Minister said while addressing a meeting of party workers here today. Ex MLA Ramnagar, Shri RS Pathania and booth level workers were also present in the meeting.

The senior BJP leader asserted that for the first time District Development Council (DDC) polls held in J&K. “People are coming out in large numbers to vote for the candidates who come from villages and ground zero,” he said, terming this is an indication that time for dynasty politics is over now in J&K.

The former Deputy Chief Minister said the growing popularity of BJP in Jammu and Kashmir has made the ‘Gupkar gang’ nervous and time for ‘dynastic rule’ is over. He accused the NC and the PDP of having looted Jammu and Kashmir’s resources through dynastic rule.

“Dynasty leaders, who till yesterday, fought against each other and were arch rivals, are today against BJP. This is because they are feeling unnerved by BJP’s growing popularity,” he said, adding that corruption and nepotism under dynasty rule stymied the progress of Jammu and Kashmir.

The senior BJP leader said the twin capitals of the Union Territory will witness lot development and the difference will be visible. He made a special appeal to young voters to vote to encourage development and good governance at grass roots level in J&K. “Your one vote will keep J&K out of fear and corruption and keep it on the path of development and progress,” he added.
