While decision of Supreme Court directing playing national anthem in theaters before every movie is good step in direction of inculcating nationalism but it shouldn’t be confined only to movie theater. Show of patriotism and nationalism should be real and heartfelt rather than cosmetic.
Jammu and Kashmir State Bharatiya Janata Party Chief Spokesperson Sunil Sethi said that playing of nationalism and showing respect to it is fundamental duty of all citizens and should be executed with pride. Respect and submission to national flag and national anthem should not only be felt and displayed too so as to set example for young generations.
Sunil Sethi further said that National flag and National Anthem should be shown respect in all institutions every day before start of work and it is more required to be done in all schools to inculcate nationalism in young generations. Similarly having same enforceability in courts and jails will bring about desired change.
He further noted that executability of the court order may create some problems where any person or segment refusing may create scene particularly when non implementing court order is not offence and no action in law can be taken against violators. These practical difficulties ought to have been discussed and considered by Supreme Court before passing order. It’s implementation in courts would have allowed opportunity to judges to lead by example
