The Parkash Utsav of Guru Gobind Singh Ji was celebrated by the Gurdwara Parbandhak Board and District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committees on January 5, 2016 in accordance with the original Nanak Shahi Calender of 2003.M.L.A R.S Pura and Political Advisor to the State B.J.P President Dr. Gagan Bhagat visited various Gurudwaras of R.S Pura Constitutency and paid Obeisance, starting the tour from the Main Gurudwara at R.S Pura,he visited Dablehar,Mamka,Kool Kalan, Simbal Camp, Mamka, Nihalpur Simbal,Indiranagar, Chohala,Keerpind, Khour,Kotli Shah Doula ,Chak Mohd. Yaar,Kalyana,Qadirpur, Rathana Camp, Rathana,and finally at Village Phinder, the Gurudwara committee of various gurudwaras presented “Siropa” and “Sword” to Dr.Gagan , who congratulated the people on the auspicious occasion of “Guru Govind Singhs Prakash Parv” and said that the life of the respected Guru Govind Singh ji is an inspiration to all of us, he lead a very simple but a life which we need to follow , and he also focused that Guru Govind Singh ji had the knowledge of Persian, Sanskrit and Punjabi and his act of bravery lead to a transformation, Dr.Gagan said that he is very much impressed with the life of great personalities who are known for their contribution in the history of our country, and just by reading their “biography” one can attain a ton knowledge, and the teachings of Sikh Gurus who stood for national integration, peace, brotherhood and communal harmony are very relevant. They asked devotees to follow the teachings of Guru Gobind Singhji which are very relevant these days.The congregation began in the morning at 11.00 AM continued up to 4.30 PM and was marked by the recitations of Gurubani Keertans and Kathas (Holy Hymns) by the renowned and reputed Ragi Jathas (Sikh Preachers) in the different Gurudwaras of R.S Pura. After the culmination of the function, the traditional Guru Ka Langar (free community kitchen) was served to all the devotees where devotees sit in the same row with great discipline promoting the feelings of togetherness, fraternity and concern for fellow human beings.The committee of Phinder Gurudwara handed over a charter of demands to Dr.Gagan which included construction of community hall at village Phinder, developmental work at Gurudwara Sahib of Phinder Village,Dr.Gagan assured them that the said works will be taken up at the earliest and the union govt. lead by the Prime Minister Narender Modi has been constantly monitoring the various projects of Jammu & Kashmir and the funds are readily available for the same , now it’s the duty of the state govt. to utilize these funds early as possible so that a utilization certificate is submitted to the New Delhi for releasing more funds , and the development of the villages is among the top priority of the government. Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included Harbhajan Singh Pammi,Devender Sharma, Natharam, Charanjeet,Dr.Rajinder Singh,Mehta Nirmal Singh,Banarsi Dass, Daljeet Singh, Kehar Singh, Sunil Kumar,Amir Singh,Omkar Singh,Devi Dass Neetu,Avtar Singh,Rashpal Singh Channi Hardev Singh, Gagandeep Singh Toni and others.
