A large number of members from Baridar community, Shree Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Katra, District Reasi met J&K BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma and apprised him of their long pending genuine concerns. BJP State Secretary Sanjay Baru also accompanied State President.
Deputation, while interacting with the State President said that they have been deprived of their genuine rights which accrued by way of their worshipping the holy Shrine for thousands of years and they insisted that they be rehabilitated by amending the Shrine Board Act 1988 and making provision of some share to the Baridars from the income of the Shrine Board by way of offerings at the Sanctum Sanctorum. They also said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi also earlier assured the community that their genuine concerns will be attended to in due course of time.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Holy Shrine of Shree Mata Vaishno Devi has been a most revered place amongst the Hindus from all over the world from time immemorial and the Baridar Community has been serving here ever since. The community has been deprived of its due rights after the constitution of “Shree Mata Vaisno Devi Shrine Board” when they were not given due consideration about their future prospects as the community was serving the Shrine and was solely dependent upon the income from the Shrine for the survival. The community has been through rough times regarding the education of their wards and other job opportunities ever since they have been dislocated.
Sat Sharma while listening to the demands of Baridar Community patiently, said that the BJP is always focussed to end the grievances of the masses in every possible way and this is particularly evident from the selfless working of our worthy Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Focussing on the agenda of “Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas”, he said that BJP in the State is also concerned about the hardships of the common masses and assured them that he will provide all possible help to the Baridar community regarding their issues.
BJP State Office Secretary Rachhpal Singh, Sher Singh, Vijay Sharma, Ramesh Sharma, Shankar Singh, Ratan Singh, Sham Singh and others were among the prominent persons from Baridar Community who were present.
