Jammu and Kashmir State Bharatiya Janata Party has asked for withdrawal of FIR registered against non local students in NIT incident. Registering FIR against non local students was decision taken in haste and to gag voice of nationalism in valley which shouldn’t have been done, noted Sunil Sethi Chief Spokesperson JK BJP in press release.
He further said that students were raising slogans for the country which is not crime rather it should have been encouraged and protected by institution, police and local administration. The act of unprovoked brutal lathi-charge without justification on hapless students which was act of provocation and harassment to the students and which started chain of events against the interest of state. The things can still be controlled by withdrawing FIR against non Local students and providing them adequate safety and security.
Sunil Sethi further noted that the incident in Handwara is proving only what was being repeatedly told by party about concerted efforts and designs to bring disrepute to armed forces by leveling false allegations against them. This episode proves that certain vested elements in valley in aid of their masters sitting across border are having no regards for human life and are using innocent citizens in valley as mere fodder for their anti national activities.
He advocated strict action against perpetrators of this dastardly crime and dealing with them immediately under law to instill confidence in peace loving majority of valley. He also asked government to give compensation to the families of persons killed in firing, having been misled by vested elements who are supporters and sympathizers of militancy and separation.
